Fast Flow Gutters®

Most people don’t spend much time thinking about their gutters but understanding their importance may prevent costly home repair bills. For example, did you know that most foundation cracks and basement flooding is caused primarily by defective gutters? If you’re getting water in your basement have your gutters checked; they may need to get repaired or replaced. This should be the first thing done before you get into an expensive waterproofing project. Most of the time the correct size gutter working properly will stop basement seepage.

The primary purpose of gutters is to catch the water coming off the roof and move it away from your home, which in turn protects your siding, windows, doors, and foundation from water damage. Many homeowners don’t realize how much damage can occur when their gutters are clogged, leaking, or broken. When gutters aren’t functioning properly, rainwater runs off the roof and collects on the ground near the foundation. Heavy rain can result in standing pools of water, which can cause a multitude of problems. Our Fast Flow Gutters® are oversized at 6” they catch 40% more water than the standard builder grade 4” or 5” gutters most homes have. We pair our oversized gutters with oversized 3×4 downspouts to catch and move enormous amounts of water away from your foundation as fast as possible. Sitting water near your foundation can cause some severe damage.

Potential Damage Caused by Bad Gutters:

  • Basement Flooding.
  • Cracked / Damaged Foundation.
  • Mosquitoes and other insects breed in standing water.
  • Mold and Mildew.
  • Topsoil Erosion.
  • Overflowing Gutters Cause Staining.
  • Paint Damage.
  • Rotting Wood.
  • Rusting of Certain Building Materials.
  • Damage to Landscaping.

If you sit in your car in front of your property during a massive rain storm, you will see precisely where the rainwater is going. This is called following the water. You will see exactly how effectively or ineffectively your current gutters are working. Most water seepage problems can be resolved by replacing your existing gutters to a bigger system. This is also a cheaper solution than the alternative of taking on a usually costly waterproofing project.

If you have a small two-bedroom home the standard 4” to 5” builder grade, gutters should be fine. Anything bigger than a two bedroom home you should go with 6” Gutters and 3×4 Downspouts.
