Luis Found the Ultimate Solution to Fix Stucco Cracks and Prevent Water
Homeowners in Florida know how tough the weather can be on a home’s exterior—especially when it comes to stucco. Luis, a homeowner in Oviedo, FL, was dealing with exactly that. His home had multiple stucco cracks, and every hurricane season brought water intrusion issues. Like many homeowners, he was tired of repainting every few years and needed a permanent fix. That’s when he discovered Home Shield Coating® and it changed everything.
Why Luis Chose Home Shield Coating® Over Rhino Shield Paint
After sitting through Rhino Shield’s presentation, he contacted Home Shield Coating® after comparing both companies, the decision was clear. Luis appreciated that Home Shield Coating® has over 25 years’ experience with the same team and owners. He liked our 30-year combined warranty which includes a 10-year labor warranty. Rhino Shield offers a 25-year warranty but covers labor for only 1- year. Luis appreciated our straightforward no BS simple and stress-free estimate process and our 30 day price. There was no sales manager phone calls, no high-pressure “buy today or pay 40% more tomorrow” drama. Luis shares more about his experience with Rhino Shield and their high pressure sales tactics in the video testimonial above. Home Shield Coating® Solving Real Problems
During our inspection, we discovered that part of Luis’s water issues were caused by undersized and overflowing gutters. Here’s what we did to protect his home for the long haul:
- Replaced the small front gutters with heavy-duty 6” gutters and 3×4 downspouts
- Removed and replaced the rear super gutter, which was detached and overflowing
- Repaired all stucco cracks to stop water intrusion at its source
- Applied our Pink Primer bonding agent, followed by two coats of Home Shield Coating® for lasting protection
The result? A beautiful, watertight exterior that Luis was thrilled with.

How We Waterproof Stucco: Part A Bonding Agent + Part B Top Coat
For Luis’s Oviedo stucco home, the waterproofing did not come from ordinary house paint. After the cracks and water-management problems were corrected, Home Shield Coating used a two-part coating system built for Florida rain, humidity, and hurricane-season water intrusion.
Part A: Pink Waterproof Bonding Agent Primer
Part A is the Pink waterproof bonding agent primer. On properly prepared stucco, it bonds to the surface and waterproofs the stucco before the finish coats are applied.
Part B: Top Coat
Part B is the Top Coat. It builds the long-term protective exterior coating finish over the waterproof bonding primer.
That is why this project included more than paint. The team repaired the stucco cracks, corrected the gutter overflow, applied the Pink waterproof bonding agent primer, and finished the home with two coats of Home Shield Coating.

Waterproof Stucco Questions Homeowners Ask
Is stucco waterproof by itself?
No. Stucco can shed water when it is in good condition, but it is not the same as a waterproof coating system. Cracks, failed caulking, bad gutters, and Florida storm cycles can let moisture get behind the exterior.
Will painting stucco make it waterproof?
Ordinary exterior paint may improve appearance, but it is not the same as waterproofing stucco. Home Shield Coating uses Part A Pink waterproof bonding agent primer to waterproof the stucco, then Part B Top Coat to create the finished protective coating.
How do you waterproof exterior stucco in Florida?
The right process starts with inspection. On this Oviedo project, the team corrected gutter overflow, repaired stucco cracks, prepared the surface, applied the Pink waterproof bonding agent primer, and finished with the Top Coat system.
Can cracked stucco be waterproofed?
Yes, but cracks should be repaired first. Waterproofing over unresolved cracks or active water-management problems can hide the issue instead of fixing it.
